A review of the role of nutrition during Covid-19 infection

Abstract:
On December 12, 2019, a new Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-Cov-2) appeared in Wuhan, China, causing an outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). On January 25, 2021, the number of COVID-19 deaths worldwide reached 2 million and the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases reached more than 100 million, according to the COVID-Case Tracker by Johns Hopkins University. The pandemic of COVID-19 has a profound effect on human health and has caused sudden changes in human lifestyle through social distance and quarantine at home, with social and economic consequences. Optimizing public health during this pandemic requires not only knowledge of medical and biological sciences, but also all sciences related to lifestyle, social and behavioral studies, including eating habits and lifestyle. One of the methods that can be very important to strengthen the immune system against various diseases such as coronavirus is to modify nutrition and follow the correct diet pattern. The following article is a brief overview of the relationship between nutrition and the coronavirus, as well as key tips for increasing nutritional health at this time in the corona pandemic.
